Chamonix based sports lover, and first time blogger…
I started skiing at around 13 years old and had the usual family holidays to the Alps once, sometimes twice a year since then. I finally decided to take action on my dream of doing a season at the age off 22, and now this winter will be my 5th. After my first season I did my BASI Alpine Level 2 before teaching a bit part time at an indoor ski slope I headed back out that year to do my second season.
I’ve climbed on and off since 14. Learning to lead Trad climb with my brother, before ending up only climbing sport for the last few years. I had a spate of serious training for a second trip to Kalymnos and got my best ever grade (6b+).
After this, I went travelling round Europe in a converted Transit van for 3 and a 1/2 months before heading to Morzine for my 3rd winter (where I met the awesome Gemma J). After I finished the winter I realised I REALLY didn’t want to go back to the UK and came to Chamonix for my first ever summer abroad, I spent the whole time wondering why I hadn’t done so sooner!
Climbing on the door step and epic Cols to cycle up and endless walking trails I found a job as an Ops Manager for the winter and got myself a studio flat.
After two epic summer and soon to be two winters I shall be staying here for a while…..
